History
Here’s a history of the arts centre with a focus on the Butterworth Hall, which has been at the heart of our latest developments.
We will be adding more images and information as we uncover them, but if you have an anecdote please post a comment on the bottom of this page. We’d love to hear from you!

i was at warwick between 79 and 82 during which time butterworth hall was built. I note from the timeline that you reckon that ricardo muti gave the first performance. Wrong!! Actually that honour went to the Warwick symphony chorus and orchestra who did beethovens 9th first - anyone remember? it was put on as sound test for the acoustics and the uni charged 50p per ticket, absolute sell out and great night.
