Our Boys Dancing project continues apace with an inset session for teachers. Givng teachers an opportunity to develop their skills and be actively prepared for the artists’ visits to their schools is a key part of the Boys Dancing project. As teachers will be developing the boys’ work in between artists’ visits it is vital that they feel confident and prepared enough to do that. Last evening’s session with Dave McKenna and Mark Worth let them make their own dance as the boys will do, visit the Mead Gallery to see the Duck for Mr Darwin exhibition that will be the inspiration for the boys’ own dance-making and allowed us to clear up a deal of administrative stuff too! And then we all finished of the evening with a visit to Insane in the Brain – a hugely enjoyable hip-hop version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s nest from Bounce Streetdance Theatre. A number of lads from our Boys Dancing residency were there too and enjoyed it thoroughly. See some pics of the teachers working on the Boys Dancing page
