The Boys Dancing project continues this week with another residency – this time with 7 lads from Foxford School & Community Arts College in Coventry creating a brand new boys dance film. The whole piece is being shot in several locations at The Alan Higgs Centre, which we have been able to use thanks to the fantastic support of Paul Breed and the Coventry Sports Foundation. Days one to three this week, the young men have been coming up with ideas, creating their story and choreographing each section with the help of Dave McKenna, Artistic Director of Beingfrank Physical Theatre. Then today was the first day of filming, with the lads repeating each section time and time again to get it just right with the long, mid and close-up shots. A very tiring day but we are still on schedule at the moment, with a final filming day planned for tomorrow. New photos from this week have been uploaded to the Boys Dancing page, and more will be added along with some interviews with those taking part, so check back soon.
