Start with Art Funding

Tuesday 2nd February

The Education Department are delighted to have recently been successful in their funding bid to the “Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts“ for their Start funding pot. This money, along with funding from some other sources, will allow Key Stage 1 children from 6 schools, who haven’t been to or worked with Warwick Arts Centre in the last 10 years, to experience both our colour trail and sculpture trail. The visits will be preceded by professional artists running inset sessions for staff and govenors at each school and then followed up by the artists working with the children to create a new piece of artwork to take pride of place in their school. We’ve had our first meeting with the staff from all the schools and inspired them by showing them a couple of the artworks on campus, and are now busy planning and timetabling for the year ahead.
