I hope that many people were able to read our blog earlier in the year from David Harradine – extolling the virtues of making theatre for the very young. An inspirational read which chimes so well with our belief in trying hard to programme the best available live arts for the young – it’s just as important that children get the best in the arts as any other sector of our audience. David’s company, Fevered Sleep, is curating an event tomorrow at Sadler’s Wells. The Future Playground will be a provocation to artists looking at the changing landscape of performance and art for young audiences, charting new territories and new ideas.
It aims to inspire and encourage a range of people, working in all sorts of ways across all sorts of artforms, to think about making work for children. I’ll be there to add my pennyworth (and see Fevered Sleep’s The Forest which we are presenting in March) and will report back later.
However if you can’t wait for that, the whole event is being streamed live from 3pm here.
