The Secret's Out!

I have finally managed to see El Secreto de sus Ojos (The Secret in their Eyes), Argentine winner of the Foreign Language Oscar this year.

It is glossy in the Italian or Spanish way, a very stylish and atmospheric Hitchcock-like thriller, rather edgy with plenty of wistful romance and some smart ironic comedy.  I think this is what puts it in the category of ‘crowd-pleaser’.  It is a shame that it has taken so long to appear but it is one of those films that was delayed by the uncertainty around the World Cup, but it plays Warwick Arts Centre from 10th September.  Treat yourself!
