So a rather dreary few days as far as weather is concerned but 400 + arts marketers’ descended on the Leicester Curve theatre for two days of learning, listening, discussing and of course networking (an excuse widely used as to why we must also spend both nights drinking lots of wine…!).
With an inspiring opening keynote speech by Diane Ragsdale, it set the tone for pertinent questions within the arts world. Dan Germain from Innocent Smoothies wins the award for the funniest presentation, plus his love for his brand and his work was very refreshing.Working with your audience, breaking down barriers within organisations and social/digital media were for me the resonating themes. I’m hoping that we are all able to take on all the enthusiasm and ideas that we have had at the AMA and put it into practice before time and resources drags us back into the world of trying to just keep up!
The Curve was a fascinating place if not a little confusing to find your way around (that being said it really is just a circle so I feel I may just be easily confused!). The food and first evening performance from NoFit State Circus was lovely and there was definitely enough food and drink to keep anyone happy throughout the two days (too much coffee and not enough water on my part!).
So all in all a fun time was had; ideas and new friends made and looking forward to what the next year may bring in arts marketing…
