Education at Warwick Arts Centre

Cov Cool Kids

children playing musicWarwick Arts Centre is very excited to have received its biggest ever funding grant to run a very large arts education project in Coventry.

The funding from Neighbourhood Renewal Fund is allowing us to work in 21 primary and special schools with 119 classes and 3500 children over two years.

Children are working with professional artists to make brand new works of art that they can share with family and friends.  They will be sharing in school and at Warwick Arts Centre.  They also come to Warwick Arts Centre to see professional performances to stimulate their imaginations and feed their own creative processes.

A brand new website holds all the schools together and lets children show their work through writing, photography, artwork and video.  Check out the website by clicking the Cov Cool Kids logo at the top of the page.

Work in schools began in September 2006 and will run until March 2008.   The first job we gave the children to do, was to come up with a new project name, something that reflects its size, ambition and energy.

New Name

All the votes are in and here is the result...
