Domestic Blitz

Life in Wartime Britain

A DVD Resource for KS2 - £20

Warwick Arts Centre’s Domestic Blitz has proved itself to be a popular and extremely useful video resource.  Using original wartime film footage from the Post Office documentary archive, which children found fascinating, the video got right to the heart of what Britain had to deal with during World War Two.

Now we’ve made it even better!  Firstly, we’ve updated the format to DVD to make it much easier to use in the classroom.  And secondly, as well as the original films such as Dig for Victory, Food Flashes, Early Days and Britain Can Take It, we’ve added a new section to inspire teachers – Blitz and Pieces.  The new section runs as a documentary of the Blitz in Coventry, but can be used as a model for the use of primary historical source material to find out what happened in any area during the war – urban or rural.

The new DVD also comes with a brand new booklet of source material and ideas for classroom activities, including film and photo analysis, media education and links with other areas of the curriculum.

To find out more and order your copy of Domestic Blitz contact Carly Mee, Education Officer on 024 7657 4786 or email here .
