Bartok – Violin Concerto No.2
Interval
Tchaikovsky – Symphony No.5
A Concert Series wouldn’t be complete without a visit by our internationally renowned ‘local band’ the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
We welcome them and their exciting new Music Director, Andris Nelsons, who has made a tremendous impact on the orchestra and audiences alike since his recent appointment.
Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.5 is one of the great orchestral show pieces and it will give you a chance to see why Andris Nelsons’ partnership with the CBSO is now considered to be something special.
Butterworth Hall
With a maximum capacity of 2000 standing or 1500 seated this concert hall has an outstanding natural acoustic and is the home of our International Concert Series, as well as the majority of our music gigs and big name comedians. Butterworth Hall has recently had a £6.9 million redevelopment and reopened in autumn 2009 .

Halle are a great Orchestra which we look forward to presenting here at Warwick Arts Centre on a regular basis. For the 2009/10 season a selection of UK and international orchestras and artists were invited to take part in our Concert Series. We very much look forward to Halle’s return in October this year.
