Rory Bremner's Election Battlebus
Wed 24 Mar 2010 7.30pm
Theatre £18 Under 26s £10
As Britain gets ready to vote in the biggest election in a generation, the country’s top satirical impressionist takes to the road again for his first stand-up tour in five years.
In the run-up to polling day, Rory Bremner will give his own unique take on the characters and events dominating the news, with impressions ranging from Gordon Brown to Louis Walsh and back again. WARNING: May not contain Nick Clegg!
Described as a ‘one-man opposition party’ Rory has been at the heart of political comedy for twenty years. Here’s a chance to see him in action live.
The election run-up will give Rory the chance to involve surprise guests in a Q and A session in the second half of the show, now confirmed as Dave Nellist, Coventry Lab Councillor, Prof Wyn Grant, Prof of Politics, Warwick University, Jon Gaunt, DJ, “Sun Talk” & Andrew Bradley, President Warwick Student Union.
Rory is best known as Britain’s sharpest impressionist, with a repertoire of over 100 characters.
His meticulous research and observation of the politicians he mimics inevitably led to his fraternising with them and ultimately led to being awarded the final accolade for a satirist: he was banned from Labour’s battle bus in the 2001 election campaign!
