Wendy Houstoun's 50 Acts
Thu 8 & Fri 9 Nov 7.45pm
Studio £11 (£9), Under 26s £8 + booking fee
Choreographer: Wendy Houstoun
50 ACTS Is a spirited retaliation against ageism and other modern rubbish involving Manifestos, Songs, Apologies and Errors, Random Acts, Small dances and Big Ideas, Ghostly appearances, Invisibility, Stupidity, and much, much more.
Wendy Houstoun has become a mentor & model for a generation of artists. Having previously collaborated with Nigel Charnock, Rose English, Gary Stevens, Tim Etchells and Matteo Fargion.
Wendy now brings her own brand of radicalism to 50 Acts, a declaration of intent and a commitment to action.
Made with the support of Dance 4, Nightingale Theatre, Yorkshire Dance, Arts Admin and Arts Council England.
“Hilarious, touching, charming and wise. 50 Acts… marks its creator as one of the most forthright and gifted independent performers of her generation.” Donald Hutera, Dance Magazine
“A maverick to the tip of her toes, [Houstoun] seems to reinvent herself for each new work…it’s daringly brilliant” The Independent.
