Play in a Day
Ages: 8-14
Wed 23 Feb 2011 Rehearsals 10am, Performance 7pm
Butterworth Hall £22
It’s that time of year again – where young people get the chance to make their own play in just one day. You will start the day with a completely blank sheet.
Then, in a day of improvisation, drama games, music, scriptwriting and theatre skills your play will emerge, rehearsed and finally performed in one of the
most impressive concert halls in the country.
Who knows which worlds you’ll be transported to, which strange and wonderful people you’ll meet and
which stories you’ll be involved with?
We know that, led by the Warwick Arts Centre Youth Theatre leaders, everyone will have a really good time!
If you’d like book tickets to the performance “click here”.
Butterworth Hall
With a maximum capacity of 2000 standing or 1500 seated this concert hall has an outstanding natural acoustic and is the home of our International Concert Series, as well as the majority of our music gigs and big name comedians. Butterworth Hall has recently had a £6.9 million redevelopment and reopened in autumn 2009 .

Hi - my twin 8 year old daughters are interested in attending the Play in a Day. Could you please advise if there are still places available and give me some more information. How does the day work? Are there still seats available for the evening performance? I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Julia

Hi Julia
Yes there are still places available and your daughters would be very welcome. The day is run by our youth theatre leaders, and although they have an idea of the theme for the day, they usually start the day with absolutely nothing, and then work with the children throughout to devise a brand new performance. This year the theme is based around the Jungle Book. You just drop them off by 10am, and then come back to see what they have created for the performance at 7pm. There will be plenty of spaces in the evening performance as we use our largest space, the Butterworth Hall, for the day. There will be a mixture of drama games and improvisation, along with the possibility of creating some music and props for the performance.
Just phone Box Office to book your tickets, 024 7652 4524, and I’ll also send you out a letter and some forms to bring in on the day.
Best wishes
