Regarding the booking fee, which I can understand for advance bookings with a credit card but when one buys a ticket over the counter with cash for the same day, I cannot see the justificatiion for it. It just increases the price of the ticket and is misleading.

I quite agree and have already brought this up. Why penalise buyers with cash?

Hello,
Many thanks for your comments.
The 50p booking fee applies on all Warwick Arts Centre ticket transactions whether in person over the counter, over the phone or online. We have made this clear in all our literature and online, and the film prices you see above are inclusive of this fee. Where prices do not include a booking fee, it is stated that the 50p fee will apply.
In terms of the justification of this fee, it underpins our Box Office administrative service as well as the day to day running of the Arts Centre, and also goes straight back into supporting our unique and innovative artistic programme. These costs are valid regardless of whether the booking is made in person or online. The ticket price itself does not necessarily cover these costs. We have tried at every stage to keep costs for customers to a minimum, and I hope you will appreciate that this fee is less than other parties charge. We are not making profit from this fee, merely supporting our existing programme and covering necessary costs.
I hope this helps clarify the situation. We hope to see you at Warwick Arts Centre in the near future.
Best wishes,
Jan
