Film Talk: Clint Behind the Camera
Sat 11 Feb 11am-3.30pm
Cinema £10 (£6.50) + booking fee
Certificate: 15
Clint Eastwood is not just an iconic movie star. Since Play Misty For Me in 1971, he has also been a prolific and accomplished director. His films have shown an ongoing interest in outsiders and marginal figures; they explore what it means to fit in – or more frequently, to not fit in – in America.
Doctor Peter Falconer of the University of Warwick, explores this strand to Eastwood’s career, looking at how, through his work as a director, he has developed a distinctive perspective on American life and culture.
There will be a complete screening of Clint Eastwood’s latest film, J. Edgar starring Leonardo di Caprio in the title role.
