MICMACS is the latest dazzlingly cinematic outing from Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, Delicatessen), a satire on the arms trade which ground this director’s cinema of fantasy firmly in reality.
Bazil (Dany Boon) is the son of a bomb disposal expert who died on a job in Morocco. Years later, Bazil is struck by a stray bullet, which remains lodged in his head, leading to some strange side effects. After losing his job, Bazil assembles a rag-tag team of misfits and sets out on a quest to bring down those he holds responsible for his misfortunes.
Breathtaking and inventive, with pacy, edge-of-the-seat storytelling and no end of visual gags and witty wordplay.
