hi
I'm stunned you didn't show 'oil city confidential' but you're showing this, are you really an arts centre or just heading the way of the multiplexes. I won't be coming, i just don't have the right shoes..... Ann

Dear Anne Clarke,
Thank you for your comment. I understand what you are saying but rather than going down the multiplex route, we are restricted by our lack of screens and have to make the one we have work very hard and offer to a wide range of audiences, regardless of their footwear.
Oil City Confidential did make it on to the short list but not to the final list as it was one of a cluster of documentaries on similar subjects released within a couple of months of each other. The indications are that the demand for these films is not as great as I would have wished and I have to be judicious about how I commit the precious commodity of screen time.
I hope that you will find plenty of other films in the programme that will reassure you that the programme's dedication to diverse and culturally significant movies has not been compromised.
Best wishes,
J

I wasn't aware that the term 'arts' doesn't include popular entertainment anymore? The 'Arts' Centre is obviously offering a choice to people of what to see rather than subjecting them purely high brow, independent, non commercial 'entertainment'. Some of which is rather like wading through a bog rather than entertainment. I will be booking my tickets to see Sex and the City on sunday night, but I will be wearing flip flops. I do have the right to choose what shoes to wear don't I or do we all have to wear loafers Anne?

I have just applied for my two tickets to see sex and the city that I have been collecting coupons with from Muller Light- You are the only local cinema that I can visit and now I have just realised that you have stopped showing the film! Do you not have any dates in July/ August that this will be shown?
