A brilliant British directorial debut from Lea, set in the strawberry growing fields of Kent.
Gillian, a freewheeling young woman, accepts a job picking strawberries and settles into an idyllic life in the countryside whilst flirting with rugged farmhand Kev. But her relative peace is shattered by the arrival of Emily, her sister. Forthright to the point of eccentricity, her demanding ways seem to be the reason why Gillian is on the run from her past life. A battle of wills between the two women ensues, with Kev caught in the crossfire.
“An intense and bizarre psychological drama …gorgeously evoked” The Guardian
“Beautifully Shot, with striking visual metaphors…Lea has produced a fine piece of cinema, and is a talent the British film industry should cherish” The Hollywood News
