Discovering that her partner is unfaithful, concert pianist and composer Anne decides to sever all connections with her present life. Everything has to go – flat, career, bank account, all except Georges, an old acquaintance she runs into by chance.
Goading herself to new extremes, she embarks on a journey that ultimately takes her to an isolated villa on the secluded island of Ischia, Italy where a chance encounter with a local woman opens a new facet of her life.
