A touching, funny and ultimately uplifting film from popular Lebanese director Nadine Labaki (Caramel) about the antics of a group of women, determined to keep the peace in their community.
In an isolated village, church and mosque stand side by side in relative harmony, cut off from the rest of the war-torn country by the unexploded landmines that surround the village. But a series of unfortunate events causes tempers to flare, and the local women soon realise they must act fast and do whatever it takes to distract their men from thoughts of war.
People’s Choice Winner – Toronto International Film Festival 2011.
