Bite-Size: A Theatrical Tasting Menu
Spanner are here to mend the world, or at least have a bloody good go... and that's the main thing.
As horses made of petrol gallop on by,
The wet sunny sky looks normal and wrong.
On streets in which pretty much every mother
Tries in every way to please, Kids with breaded cod and peas
And sometime please the men who park cars and put newspapers in bins
The tale of the Magic Street is born.
The Magic Street is an angry, poetic rant romping through the land of the real, telling true stories about the vagaries of others: the bitching neighbours; the ignorant drinkers; crap buskers; and Jeff, the lovely old man who is persecuted for being too nice. Performed on a pop-up set, Spanner see what happens in a cartoon world where anger and suspicion can sometimes seem to be the only thing that connects us...
