Adapted by Antonio Soler from his own novel, the film traces the summer adventures of three young men negotiating the transition from boyhood to adult life during the 1970s, a similar time of transition for the Spanish nation. Miguelito (Amarilla) is an aspiring poet distracted by attractive would-be ballet dancer Luli; Paco (Gomez) is involved in an intense affair with a working-class girl known as 'The Body' who doesn't meet with his father's approval; while Babirusa (Arevalo) turns to Bruce Lee for consolation.
Their adventures and misadventures (involving sex, drugs and little bit of poetry thrown in for good measure) create a rollercoaster ride through a summer of lust, love and the bittersweet frustration that often accompanies both.
