A magpie's tour through the regional archive has yielded a fine array of gems from a century of films which examines childhood, youth and education in the Midlands during the last hundred years.

The programme, introduced by Peter Walters, will include Leicester Poor Boys and Girls visit to Marblethorpe in 1920; a pre-war Hinckley Sunday School parade; children's party in Handsworth, 1940; and a dip into the ITV collection to cover the 60s and 70s.
