Modern Cautionary Tales for Children
written and performed by Murray Lachlan Young
Sorry, this event is either not on sale yet or has been and gone.Studio
Ages: 5-10
A mixture of poetry, stand-up comedy, storytelling and a touch of panto, Modern Cautionary Tales for Children shows children (and ex-children) that poetry can be fun, throught-provoking and occasionally quite cool.
Exploring death (Nine Dead Williams gives nine audience members the opportunity to die on stage), disco-dancing ponies (a lot of children hoofing around the studio) and the not-so-delicate tale of Annie McClue (the girl who did not flush the loo) makes this a raucous, silly, scary, funny, poignant and enlightening performance of merriment and mayhem.
"Young is enchanting children with poems about toilets, thumb-sucking and horrible ways to die." The Sunday Times
