Runrig
Sat 11 Dec 2010 7.30pm
Butterworth Hall £24
Book early for this one. Runrig have just announced their traditional end of year UK tour.
There’s added significance this time as it might be the last chance for a while to catch Runrig ‘live’. The band has decided to take a break from touring in 2011, in order to write, to re-charge the batteries, to get involved in various individual projects and to look and plan towards the next big milestone in their remarkable career – in 2013 they will be celebrating 40 years in the music industry.
Don’t miss this show as it promises to be quite a night.
Butterworth Hall
With a maximum capacity of 2000 standing or 1500 seated this concert hall has an outstanding natural acoustic and is the home of our International Concert Series, as well as the majority of our music gigs and big name comedians. Butterworth Hall has recently had a £6.9 million redevelopment and reopened in autumn 2009 .

All seating detracted from the enjoyment of this event at Wolverhampton Civic Hall last year. Please post info on arrangements at Butterworth Hall: Standing? Seated? Mix?

ALL SEATED (I just phoned to check)
Shame.....

Thanks for your feedback Richard. The audience set up at gigs is determined by the promoters, which would explain why it was also seating only when you saw them in Wolverhampton. At gigs like this it doesn't usually stop our audience standing to dance - hope you manage to enjoy it if you come!

C'mon now! This is Runrig! No one stays seated for more than 5 minutes regardless of what the venue says. They couldn't make us sit down at Wolverhampton and they won't here. Just 'bounce' and enjoy!!!

Dear All
We have a waiting list for RunRig - if you have spare tickets that were bought through Warwick Arts Centre, you can return them to our Box Office team who can re-sell them on your behalf. Please note that we need to receive the tickets 24 hours prior to the event.
I am afraid that this forum cannot be used for the selling on of tickets - they do need to be exchanged through our Box Office.
Best wishes

Runrig tonight, 11th Dec. 2010. Terrific gig. Great audience, just about everyone stood, bounced, shouted, clapped, sang and sat down again at the right time. One exception was a couple who insisted on standing all the way through and were more interested in snogging than watching a great band. All nearby were just embarrassed by them.

Missed the snogging couple, but agree with Emm - brilliant gig, and fabulous atmosphere. Can't wait to see Runrig again in 2012!

Runrig were excellent, as usual. I was annoyed that staff on balcony level told us not to use a phone to take photos as it was not allowed, even though dozens of people were doing this throughout the show, on ground level of the Hall. The staff saw it, but did nothing to stop it. One rule for our area & no rules at all for that area. If you can't stop everyone, don't stop anyone.
