CloseThe unmistakeable sound of Brooklyn-based indie rock band The National make this a must-see gig.
Formed in 1999, the Ohio-raised, Brooklyn-based band consists of vocalist Matt Berninger plus two pairs of brothers: Aaron Dessner (guitar, bass, piano) and Bryce Dessner (guitar), and Scott Devendorf (bass, guitar) and Bryan Devendorf (drums).
High Violet, the fifth full album by The National has recently been released. It’s an astonishingly powerful record, sometimes cathartic and sometimes unresolved, sometimes raw and sometimes reflective, which reveals deeper musical hues and lyrical riches upon every listen. Brilliant and shadowy it feels like The National’s best yet.
Butterworth Hall
With a maximum capacity of 2000 standing or 1500 seated this concert hall has an outstanding natural acoustic and is the home of our International Concert Series, as well as the majority of our music gigs and big name comedians. Butterworth Hall has recently had a £6.9 million redevelopment and reopened in autumn 2009 .

If we have allocated seats for this event can we choose to stand in the general standing area instead of sitting down?

Unfortunately not I'm afraid. When purchasing tickets for a gig that has this layout, you can choose either a standing ticket or a seated ticket. We have to monitor the capacities in these areas carefully and therefore only those people with standing tickets will be allowed in that area.

Thanks Julia, excited about the gig but it will be a bit weird to be seated. I'll call the box office and see if they have any standing returns, if not we will just have to shuffle in our seats :). We have also ended up in single seats not even with each other, but never mind, at least we get to see the great bands and thanks for the quick response.
