Antony & Cleopatra
“…give me a kiss; even this repays me.
We sent our schoolmaster; is he come back?”
The fiercest battle ever fought, the strongest love ever felt – welcome to every child’s playtime. This radical reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s epic romance places the action of the play within the expanse of imagination that is a children’s playground.
War games rage as passions grow, tempers flare up and tantrums are thrown. Antony and Cleopatra kissing in a tree, Enobarbus following his leader and two gangs coming face to face in a game where pax is out and Caesar’s coming to get you… Ready or not here they come…
“The soldier’s pole is fall’n: young boys and girls. Are level now with men…”
Play has never been so serious.
Expected Running Time: 2hrs 30mins with interval
