Studio £7 (£6)
Take a seat in the Belleville Rendez-Vous; a cabaret bar in the fictional city of Belleville, and you will be transported back to the 1950s, witnessing the fantastical story of young orphan Champion, his grandmother Madame Souza and their dog, Bruno. When Champion disappears during a cycle race, it falls to Madame Souza and Bruno the dog to find him, and their journey leads them across the Atlantic to Belleville. Joining forces with ageing jazz trio ‘Les Triplettes de Belleville’ along the way, they hatch an ambitious plan to rescue Champion from the clutches of the mysterious crooks that kidnapped him…
Complete with live jazz music written for the piece, Belleville Rendez-vous is brought to the stage for the first time in an original interpretation of Sylvain Chomet’s charming French animation. Capturing the intricate detail of the setting and the grotesque physicality of its characters in the animation, this live re-telling of Belleville Rendez-vous promises to amaze and enthrall audiences of all ages.

An intoxicating mix of comedy, physical theatre, live jazz and a Tour de Force (and France) with a real heart-throb French leading man. This final drama year team are reaching for the top and have successfully transferred film to stage. Reknowned actor-director Fiona Mikel has reached the pinnicle of her Warwick stamping ground. Unforgettable triumph.
