“The Arts Centre was packed on the first night of their quirky, irreverent and often hilarious adaption of the macabre Brothers Grimm fairy tale. It’s like Monty Python-meets-children’s theatre.” Coventry Telegraph
Times are tough for the family in the wood
They’d eat like kings if they only could
But hunger gnaws – famine stalks the land
Something quite wicked has the upper hand!
Poor mother and father must do “what is best”…
And Hansel and Gretel will be put to the test!
Armed with their very last slice of bread
will they eat to survive or leave a trail home instead?
Let the irrepressible Kneehigh take you by the hand and lead you into the deepest part of the forest! Prepare for a world of darkness, wit and wonder, of earthy delights and crooked shadows. A world that is sweet but never sugary.
This tender, tasty and terrifying re-telling of the classic story is told through lively music, rough poetry, the most amazing gadgets and gizmos… and with the help of some rather unlucky rabbits.
Join Kneehigh for temptations impossible to resist.
For children and brave adults everywhere.

“Hansel & Gretel is the best Christmas present you could unwrap this year. Lots of fun and less calories than a Christmas pub. Treat yourself to a happy ever after ending” – The Coventry Telegraph

Could you please let me know if this show is suitable for a 3 year old? How long does it last?
Maureen Kavanagh at 10:38am on Sat 16th Oct 2010
Hi Maureen
THanks for your message. We are recommending Hansel & Gretel for children aged 7+. If you are looking for a Christmas treat for a 3 year old, take a look at THe Gruffalo - which will be perfect.
Hope to see you at Warwick Arts Centre this Christmas
Best Wishes

Fantastic production! This was my first experience of Knee High and won't be my last. This is a great way to kick off the Christmas festivities, and is so full of humour that my friends and I were quoting funny lines for days!

hiwill i be able to bring 6 yr olds to watch this performance i have watched it myself and think it is ok but would this be ok?
h at 10:06am on Thu 2nd Dec 2010
Hi H
We give 7+ as a general guide for people who may not know the show. As you have seen the show - and know your 6 year-olds - there is no problem at all with you bringing them along.
Enjoy!
