O, that this too too solid flesh would melt

Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, sees his father’s ghost. Tormented with loathing and consumed by grief, he must avenge his father’s murder. What he cannot foresee is the destruction that ensues.

Following celebrated performances at the National in Burnt by the Sun, The Revenger’s Tragedy, Philistines and The Man of Mode, Rory Kinnear plays Hamlet.

He is joined by Claire Higgins (Gertrude), Patrick Malahide (Claudius), David Calder (Polonius), James Laurenson (Ghost/Player) and Ruth Negga (Ophelia).

  • Hello,
Can you tell me if I am able to book two seats together for Hamlet? I understand there is limited availability. I would also be interested in the running time.
    Thank you

  • Hi Helen

You can indeed book two seats together, although the only seats we have left are the very front rows of the cinema which have a slightly restricted view.

As yet we do not have a running time, but as soon as we receive this information I will ensure that we update this page.

    With best wishes

  • I loved last night's production of Hamlet, as did my two young 14 year old tenth grade friends. Everyone decoded it was our very favorite Shakespearean play. The two boys asked if we could go to King Lear in the New Year. You really did an outstanding job of making the story line clear by explaining about the spying network, and the effects of spies on the citizenry. As a result of the excellent opening, the boys who were completely unfamiliar with the play, felt they understood the whole thing. they talked about ir for the one hour ride home. Wow! Well done to all!
