Robert Nickas is an independent critic and curator based in New York and the author of Painting Abstraction: New Elements in Abstract Painting which was published in 2009 by Phaidon Press.
Dr. Alison Green is an art historian, critic and curator with twin interests in contemporary art and the legacies of Modernism; she is also Senior Lecturer in Criticism, Communication and Curation at Central St Martins, London.
Both Robert Nickas and Dr. Alison Green contributed essays to The Indiscipline of Painting catalogue and on 3 March will be discussing the place of abstract art in current practice, followed by a round table discussion.
The event is free but places must be reserved via Warwick Arts Centre’s Box Office.
Mead Gallery
One of the biggest exhibition spaces in the Midlands, the Mead is a cool, white, light space presenting touring shows and newly curated exhibitions during term times. It is located above the Cinema and is open from noon to 9pm Monday to Saturday. Admission is free.
