The NT Connections Festival last week went brilliantly. Two new plays every evening, and some excellent performances by local young actors. We also had several young people taking on the technical roles involved with staging the shows too, a great opportunity for them to work in a professional venue. To see comments from performers and audiences, have a look on our facebook page.
We’ve also heard this week that one of the companies that performed here last week, Walsall College, have been invited to take their performance of Gap to the National Theatre’s own Connections festival in July. There are 200 companies taking part in the programme across the country and only 10 get the chance to transfer to London, so this is a really great achievement for them.
If any schools or youth theatre companies have been inspired to take part in this project next year, then applications are now open on the National Theatre website. This time next year, you might be performing on the Theatre stage at Warwick Arts Centre!
