On day 2, all the young people taking part in Make it Reel this year formed new groups and set about the task of making a micro short. The challenge was to keep it 40 seconds or less, which a couple of the groups found quite difficult! It was good practise for their filming and editing skills, as well as coming up with a good idea for a story that you can tell completely in less than a minute. Again, we had some fantastic results and you can see them here:
This morning, all the groups had to come up with ideas for the main film which they will plan, shoot and edit over these last 3 days. They had to pitch 3 different ideas to the panel as well as each other and then everyone voted on which they liked best. We had ideas from dinosaurs taking over the world, to time travel, to a comedy about getting rid of burglars, to failing reporters making up the news and strange people in the woods. I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise by telling you how the votes fell though….
