Happy as Larry

Autumn Season Preview

Tuesday 19 July 2011

We have some fantastic live events coming to Warwick Arts Centre this Autumn, and tickets are already selling fast! Get that date in the diary now, and make sure you have something to look forward to when you’re catching those rays this Summer…

If you’re a fan of dance and theatre, there are treats in store with the return of DV8 Physical Theatre with Can We Talk About This?, Handspring Puppet Company (the masterminds of the recent Tony award-winning War Horse) with Woyzeck on the Highveld, the always excellent Kneehigh with The Wild Bride and Rifco Arts return with their dazzling five-star musical Britain’s Got Bhangra. Shaun Parker asks the question ‘what makes us happy’ in his joyful, colourful dance piece Happy as Larry – it’s ‘smiles all round’.

If you’re looking for a giggle, we’re bringing some of the best-loved comedians in the business here including Jason Byrne, Milton Jones, Omid Djalili, Dave Gorman and Reginald D. Hunter, as well as Rob Brydon doing some stand up as well as readings from his memoir Small Man in a Book.

We have music crossing many genres including the ‘godfather’ of British blues The Legendary John Mayall, Imelda May and Frank Zappa’s son in Zappa Plays Zappa. If World Music is your thing, check out the Soweto Gospel Choir: African Grace and Anoushka Shankar with her show Traveller.

Last, but not least, our Christmas show for families is The Tiger Who Came to Tea, a wonderful adaptation of Judith Kerr’s exceptional picture books by David Wood. The show is packed with oodles of magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos sure to delight children aged three upwards and their families and friends.

Book online or call the Box Office on 024 7652 4524.
