Preview Concert of Anoushka Shankar's Traveller
On 3 July, Anoushka Shankar presented an exclusive, preview concert featuring the music from her forthcoming album Traveller at the 12th Girona Festival of World and Sacred Music at 10pm. The concert was streamed live, however if you missed it you can still catch it here
Anoushka calls Traveller a “raga flamenco journey” which originated with her wish to retrace the 1000-year-old bond between Indian and Spanish musical traditions.
The daughter and disciple of maestro Ravi Shankar has been hailed as “a new breed of super-musician, classically trained in two traditions” (Japan Times). The BBC Music Magazine has observed that “Anoushka looks set to be as important as her father”.
See Traveller here on Wed 23 Nov 2011. Book tickets online or call the Box Office on 024 7652 4524.
