Calling Performance Volunteers!

509 Arts is presenting a performance installation My Last Car 1-8 Oct and we’re looking for volunteers that can act as low key ‘hosts’ whilst the installation is open to the public. The installation consists of a disassembled car whose component parts are displayed, museum like, in the calm surroundings of the Helen Martin Studio. Our aim is to encourage people to interrogate their own relationship with the motor car and with associated issues of climate change. Your role will be to help visitors navigate the many shared stories of car life, to celebrate the past and help understand what the future might hold for a world less reliant on the combustible engine. We’re looking for enthusiastic people who can subtly engage with the public. No car knowledge is necessary – you don’t even have to be a driver!
