Concert Series - Public Booking Now Open

Thursday 04 August 2011

Warwick Arts Centre plays host to a lively 11/12 concert series offering some real gems including the nation’s favourite violinist Nicola Benedetti performing Mozart with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Libor Pesek, Vladimir Ashkenazy conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra and Royal Opera House Music Director Antonio Pappano with the London Symphony Orchestra. Until now only subscribers have been able to book tickets – but as of Monday 8 August we are opening the Concert Series to individual bookers.

The season kicks off with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and an electrifying concert of Russian music. Conductor Yuri Botnari leads and violin soloist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky is sure to delight with Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto No.1 and Mussorgsky’s ever popular Pictures at an Exhibition “completes the picture”.

The ever popular Violin Concerto No 1 is safe in the hands of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra with Antoni Wit conducting and young Polish violinist Kuba Jakowicz delivering one of classical music’s most entertaining half-hours.

As we move towards the festive season, we are delighted to welcome the Philharmonia Orchestra back again to Warwick Arts Centre for a concert led by Philippe Jordan. Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique appears in a concert that is sure to be as fantastic as the title of the piece suggests.

Highlights of the 2012 programme include the virtuoso English Chamber Orchestra presenting a concert of Philip Glass and Bach, Julian Lloyd Webber with the European Union Chamber Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra with the brilliant Andris Nelsons at the helm.

And this is just a flavour of what we have in store! Click here to find out more and book tickets or take a look below to see all the events in our Concert Series 2011-12.
