The Family Weekend is coming! Join us on Sat 1 & Sun 2 Dec

Thursday 29 November 2012

On Sat 1 & Sun 2 Dec, Warwick Arts Centre will be transformed into a festive wonderland for our Family Weekend, full to bursting with events and activities designed to keep the whole family entertained. There’ll be live music, craft stalls, Christmas films, art in action and some fabulous family-friendly theatre!

The jewel in the crown of the weekend will be our fantastic production of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt – a theatrical treat for all the family, based on the children’s book by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. There’s also a unique opportunity to experience a piece of theatre performed just for you thanks to Bootworks’ Incredible Book Eating Boy. A five-minute dose of theatrical magic, the capacity per show is just two people – perfect for two children or one adult and one child at a time, and there’s lots of performances on throughout the weekend!

On Sat 1 Dec there will also be a very exciting one-off event, where art really jumps into action – our current exhibition Untitled #162 by Aeneas Wilder in the Mead Gallery, a scultpure made of of 10,00 delicately balanced wooden sticks will be “kicked-down” by the artist himself. The event has sold out, but we’ll be transmitting it live to our foyer screens – make sure you’re watching at 4pm on Sat 1 Dec when this remarkable exhibition that took weeks to construct finally comes tumbling down!

There’ll also be live music, workshops and plenty of free fun if you just fancy coming along and soaking up the atmosphere! Click here to see the programme of scheduled events taking place during our Family Weekend and come and join the fun in the foyer on from 10am on Sat 1 and Sun 2 Dec. We hope to see you there!
