Today is not so good. The hire van, having been left in a lorry park overnight has been scratched and this does not go unnoticed by the hire company to whom it is returned. Our contingency is going to take a hit … on day 2! Gulp.
That aside we now have the full company here. Sarah Woods (writer) and Shanaz Gulzar (Digital Artist) have joined us and along with the actors we’re able to have a read through (two in fact) and get a real feel for the script. One of the nice things about this production is that although we’re a group of freelancers who have not previously worked together as a company, everyone kind of knows each other through some other route or has worked on other projects with individuals of the company so already it feels like things are gelling.
The day finishes as all days should with tea and buns and a formal but warm welcome to the Arts Centre and its staff. A good chance to put faces to those names that have populated my email inbox for the last several months.
