National Portfolio Funding
Wednesday 30 March 2011
Warwick Arts Centre has been informed today that it will receive National Portfolio funding from 2012 – 2015. Warwick Arts Centre Director, Alan Rivett said:
“We are thrilled that Warwick Arts Centre has secured annual National Portfolio funding from Arts Council England. Competition for this funding has been extreme in the light of cuts of 29% to Arts Council England budgets over the next 4 years. This grant secures our artistic programme until 2015, ensuring our ongoing investment in artists, audiences and community engagement. Warwick Arts Centre will continue to present a nationally acclaimed programme of theatre, music, dance, family work, visual arts and film for the people of Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond.”
The National Portfolio funding programme will provide funding for a national portfolio of arts organisations from April 2012 and replaces the regular funding programme which will end on 31 March 2012.
The five main strategic aims of Arts Council England are as follows:
• Talent and artistic excellence are thriving and celebrated
• More people experience and are inspired by the arts
• The arts are sustainable, resilient and innovative
• The arts leadership and workforce are diverse and highly skilled
• Every child and young person has the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts
