Tom Hunter: Artist's Eye at the National Gallery
Thursday 15 September 2011
On Fri 16 Sep 6.30-7.15pm Tom Hunter discusses his favourite work from the National Gallery collection as part of their Artist’s Eye series. Tom Hunter presents Unheralded Stories here this Autumn, so this is your chance to hear the photographer speak about his inspiration before you see his photographs at the Mead Gallery.
In this series of Artist’s Eye talks, contemporary artists discuss a favourite work from the collection, revealing what first captivated them, what interests them about the painting and how their own practice has been inspired by considering the work of artists who have gone before them.
Tom Hunter will discuss Piero di Cosimo: A Satyr Mourning over a Nymph, the painting which inspired his work Murder Two Men Wanted. This is a free event.
