Warwick Arts Centre takes part in Dickens Bicentenary Celebrations
Monday 23 January 2012
On 7th February 2012 Charles Dickens will be 200 years old, and there will be many events taking place across the country to celebrate the life and works of one of Britain’s best-loved authors. Warwick Arts Centre will be joining in the celebrations by hosting a number of Dickens-centric events, including a talk from eminent film enthusiast Adrian Wootton on the way the author’s work has been depicted on film.
Adrian Wootton is the current Chief Executive Officer of Film London, and he lectures regularly nationally and internationally on a wide variety of film and literary subjects. The talk takes place on Sat 28 Jan at 11am, and will be followed by a screening of David Lean’s seminal 1946 adaptation of Great Expectations.
