Alan Rivett
Director

Started out in the National Youth Theatre in the late 1960s followed by a wide range of jobs in stage and company management in regional theatre, West End, Theatre in Education and community theatre. Trained as a teacher at Bretton Hall. Following a period as Drama Officer for West Midlands Arts took up post of Deputy Director at Warwick Arts Centre in 1990. Appointed Director in February 2001. Ex Chair of Metier (1996-2000) and has been on the boards of Motionhouse Dance, The Drum and Geese Theatre Company. Recent appointed as Ambassador for Coventry.

Neil Darlison
Deputy Director

Studied English at Sunderland University followed by posts in local radio and catering management. Joined Warwick Arts Centre in 1989. Member of WOMEX (World Music network) and Board of Roadmender, Northampton. Seconded to South Bank Centre as Head of Planning 2000/2001. Programme consultant for Chichester Festival Theatre and Bolton Octagon. Lead member of ACE funded World Music Consortium (Music Beyond Mainstream) and BAC small scale touring consortium (This Way Up) which started in April 2003.

John Gore
Film Programmer

Founding member of regional exhibitors forum and education consortium. Programmer, Blink Film Festival. Member of Consort, National Consortium of Independent Cinemas. Advisor to Talking Birds for film and media activities. Occasional broadcaster for BBC WM. Also programmes film for mac in Birmingham.

Sarah Shalgosky
Curator, Mead Gallery

Sarah studied art history before starting her career as the Arts Council Trainee in exhibition organisation in 1985.  She worked at a number of regional museums and galleries and for Oxford Exhibition Services before coming to the Mead Gallery in 1993.  Sarah leads the gallery team in developing a programme of exhibitions and events which focus on the contemporary visual arts.  She is also responsible for the management and development of the university’s collection of contemporary art which is on display across campus and contributes to some teaching and research programmes in different faculties across the university. 

Brian Bishop
Education Director

With a first degree in drama from Exeter University, Brian trained as an actor and drama teacher. He taught Drama and English in Wales and Devon and toured the West Country as a performer with Echo Theatre Company. Moved to Coventry in 1982 to join the Belgrade Theatre in Education Company. In 1994 when the Company evolved into the Belgrade Theatre Education Department he became Head of Education until 1996. In the same year he joined Warwick Arts Centre as Education Officer.
