What happens with the programme whilst the redevelopment is taking place?
Throughout the three years of redevelopment, we will be running a full programme of events – theatre, dance, circus, comedy, music, classical music, family events – in fact everything you are used to seeing at Warwick Arts Centre.

Will the Café Bar be open?
There will be food and drink available throughout the period 2017 – 2020. From September 2018, Cafe Bar will be located by the Music Centre entrance (formerly Le Gusta). When the new development is completed in October 2020 there will be an extensive new café and brasserie of superb quality and range. The foyers will be extensively improved with more opportunities to encounter art.

What will be happening to the Mead Gallery from Oct 2018 to Oct 2020?
The Mead Gallery will be closed from Summer 2018 – October 2020 as part of the redevelopment programme. During this period there will be opportunities to experience art on campus through the University Art Collection and the University Sculpture Trail. An exciting visual arts programme is being planned to take exhibitions out across campus – further details and updates can be found on the Mead Gallery pages of the website.

What will happen to the cinema from Oct 2018 to Oct 2020?
We are maintaining our film programme for as long as the contractors allow us, but we expect our existing cinema to close from late September 2018 until October 2020, whilst we build three new digital auditorium (which will seat 60,180 and 250 people in each).

Will bar facilities be available throughout?
The Cafe will continue to serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the period.

Will there be any disruption to parking and travelling around campus?
We do not expect much disruption during the first year of the refurbishment (2017 – 2018), but as always, we would urge you to arrive on campus as early as you can and use the variety of car parks on campus. We will keep these pages and our Getting Here pages up to date with all the latest parking info.
