A collection of over 800 university-owned artworks by some of the most exciting artists of the last 50 years, including Jack Bush, Patrick Heron, Terry Frost, Bridget Riley, Richard Deacon, Catherine Yass, Glenn Ligon and many others. It includes paintings, prints and sculpture.
The original intention of the collection was to provide everyday experience of original works of art for students and staff working at the university. It is a dispersed collection, not a gallery based one and forms an important part of the cultural and aesthetic environment of the University.
The first accessions included a number of generous gifts as well as purchases from a fund set up by the University which continues to this day.
