Become Part of the Art at the Mead Gallery!

Posted on

Today (Wed 9 Jan) the Mead Gallery reopens its doors to the public with a brand new exhibition entitled Workplace. Featuring video installations from international artists, they depict the workplace (be it an office, a classroom, or a shop) as a universal experience, one which cuts across political and geographical boundaries as well as distinctions between types of industry.

The Mead Gallery team have completely transformed the gallery space into a modern office – complete with pot plants, filing cabinets and angle-poise lamps! In addition to being able to view the installation, for the duration of the exhibition, we are offering you the opportunity to make the Mead Gallery your very own Workplace. Use our specially-created desk and meeting spaces to write an essay, hold a group project meeting, or work on your own artistic endeavours.

You can book a space in the Mead Gallery in one of three ways: via our online booking system (choose the Meeting Space or the Desk Space), by calling the Mead Gallery on 024 7652 2589 or by visiting the gallery desk and talking to one of our assistants. Walk-ups are accepted!

While you work, the exhibition will take place around you, and you will become part of the art, representing the ways in which a workplace can be a transient space.
