Coventry-based creative technologists Ludic Rooms, in partnership with Warwick Arts Centre, invite you to the Random String Symposium on Fri 7 Mar, 9am – 4.30pm at Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry.
An artistic partnership between Dom Breadmore and Ash Brown, Ludic Rooms is Coventry’s only practising creative technology company and is being supported by Matt Burman, Head of Programme and Audiences at Warwick Arts Centre, to develop Random String as part of Warwick Art Centre’s digital arts strategy.
“We don’t believe that all artists have to work with technology, far from it.” Explain the duo. “We want to help break down the barriers that prevent creatives from dipping their toe. We want practitioners to feel free to play with technology as a medium and to embrace success and failure in equal measure.”
The aim of Random String is to put technology into the hands and minds of artists, and the Symposium brings together artists, curators, facilitators and cultural organisations to experiment and play with technology as a creative medium. The symposium comprises of talks, presentations, sharings and plenty of hands-on opportunities to experiment and play with digital artworks and technology. There will also be the opportunity to pitch for the Random String Award, a package of support and seed investment of £500 to develop a new creative technology project for Warwick Arts Centre.
