It’s International Women’s Day so we’re shouting about our upcoming lady-based events! Celebrating our sisters that act, sing, teach, tickle our funny bones and are generally truly wonderful.

Big Girl’s Blouse

First up we have the winner of Brighton Fringe LGBTQ Award 2015 Big Girl’s Blouse which sees Kate O’Donnell make a song and dance about her life before, during and after her transition using humour, music and costume to tell her story.

Mastering Your DSLR (SOLD OUT)
Sun 13 Mar 2016 10am – 5pm

A fun and relaxed one day course, run by Kate Green, in which you will learn the basic controls and techniques common to your digital SLR camera.

Kate is a Midlands based Photographer and Film Maker working in the commercial, social and education sectors. After a successful career in marketing and project management she began her own photography business, in 2006, expanding into film making in 2010.

The Puppini Sisters

The stylishly kitsch The Puppini Sisters combine their own arrangements of classics from the Thirties to the Fifties, jazzy reinventions of pop hits, and self-penned original songs.

Bridget Christie: A Book For Her

The Queen of political comedy, Bridget Christie, returns with more of her clownish, flustering outrage in a new show that features passages from her new book (also called A Book For Her) AND a book signing afterwards!

Bryony Kimmings: Fake It ‘til You Make It

Outrageous, hilarious and fearless performance artist Bryony Kimmings and her partner Tim Grayburn’s show, Fake It ‘til You Make It, is a new piece of work about clinical depression and men. Six months into their relationship, Bryony found out that Tim suffers from severe clinical depression. We’re in no doubt that this show will make you laugh and cry.

Learn How to Create Stunning Home and Gift Flowers
Sun 10 Apr 2016 10am – 5pm

This one day course, run by Cindy Lymbery, will give you a great insight into the Pure Botanics style of flower design whilst learning the basics of modern day floristry.
Cindy is a professionally trained florist who set up and runs the specialist wedding and event flower company, Pure Botanics. Formerly a qualified teacher, she loves sharing her passion, expertise and experiences with others.

Learn How to Create Wedding Flowers
Sun 17 Apr 2016 10am – 5pm

A full one day course, also run by Cindy Lymbery, on bridal flowers for those who want to learn how to create flowers for a big day. All flowers and sundries will be provided, but please bring your secateurs or scissors!

3D Pattern Cutting
Sun 24 Apr 2016 10am – 5pm

Experience the creation of 3D forms in fabric or flexible materials in this one day masterclass with Bobbie Seagroatt. Previous experience of pattern cutting is not necessary, but a basic ability to use a sewing machine (or to sew fairly speedily by hand!) is needed.
Bobbie works as a designer / pattern cutter / maker in her own bespoke business, Atelier by Bobbie Seagroatt.
