Splat Arts Festival Comes to Jephson Gardens this Saturday

Posted on

Splat Arts Festival is coming to Jephson Gardens on Saturday 13th July, 11am – 5pm.

The festival is the amazing product of the Arts Active Network, which is run by three primary schools in South Leamington Spa in partnership with Warwick Arts Centre.
St Patrick’s, Sydenham and Clapham Terrace Primary Schools have worked with artists on a series of See, Make, Share activities, which has allowed them to see the work of professional artists in a variety of art forms, make new art works of their own and then share them with the other schools, friends and families.

After the success of the first festival in 2017, the schools are excited to bring back Leamington Spa’s only family arts festival, created by and for children. Located in Jephson Gardens the day will feature a great mixture of children’s performances, games and fun across all different art forms. Not only have the children created new art works and performances to share at the festival, they have also created a Festival Management Group who have planned the programme of events and will be managing the festival throughout the day.

The Festival Management Group have worked with staff from the Creative Learning Team at Warwick Arts Centre to understand what it takes to create a festival. Over the past year they have met staff doing similar roles at the Arts Centre, made site visits and contacted performance companies and VIPs, and can’t wait to see all their decisions come together at this event!
