Come and explore a free new augmented reality experience at Warwick Arts Centre launching this summer.
Folklorica by Edie Jo Murray will bring to life local legends, tall tales and folklore, materialising in real space what is normally confined to our imaginations.
Using your mobile device, you will be able to access a fantastical world and a range of hidden digital sculptures which await your discovery in the vicinity of Warwick Arts Centre.
Edie Jo Murray is a Coventry-based artist with a desire to disrupt reality. In Folklorica she is interested in the urban mythologies which inform the identities of particular places, and in how the University of Warwick campus connects with its surroundings in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Through her work, Edie’s focus on digital tools and immersive technologies is enriched through vibrant, sensory-driven exploration of physical media. Edie is a graduate of the University of Warwick’s MA in Digital Media and Culture, an Artist Fellow at Birmingham Open Media and an alum of Vivid Project‘s Black Hole Club. Past work includes commissions from the Open Data Institute, Coventry City of Culture 2021 and Coventry’s Herbert Art Gallery & Museum.
